Summer finds me spending long hours in my modest, but productive, veggie patch.

The Veggie Patch in August

The patch produces a variety of vegetables including lettuce, spinach, cabbages, beets, parsnips, summer and winter squash, peas, pole beans, tomatoes, eggplants and peppers. I also grow annual and biennial culinary herbs such as basil, parsley, cilantro, and garlic. Perennial herbs such as sage, thyme, and oregano are located in their own garden outside of the veggie patch.
